ORCA: August Partner of the Month🌊

This month, Ocean Grants is proud to highlight ORCA! The Ocean Research & Conservation Association!

Founded by renowned marine scientist Dr. Edie Widder, ORCA is a Florida-based nonprofit using innovative technology, science-based conservation, and community education to protect and restore aquatic ecosystems.

From real-time water quality monitoring and pollution mapping to habitat restoration, One Health research, and citizen science, ORCA is turning research into action to better understand and protect the Indian River Lagoon and surrounding waterways. 

Through programs like the Kilroy Water Quality Monitoring NetworkEcotoxicity Research & Pollution MappingOne Health, and the Land to Sea Initiative, ORCA is collecting critical data, identifying pollution hotspots, guiding restoration, and helping communities make informed decisions for healthier waterways.
